Most small businesses need a website, but not all can afford to pay for a custom design or development. Luckily, some great free website tools can help small businesses get online without spending a lot of money. Wix is one of my favorites. In fact, I like this tool so much I became an affiliate. Wix is easy to use, and it lets you create a professional-looking website without having to learn coding or design. So if you’re looking for a free way to get your business online, Wix is worth checking out.

Wix Free Version

Wix has a free version and a paid version. The free version is great for small business professionals who just want to get online and don’t need any fancy features. At the time of this writing, the paid version starts at $16 per month and gives you access to all of Wix’s features, including its eCommerce platform, which lets you sell products on your website.

You can start with the free version. Then as your business grows, you can upgrade to the paid version. You don’t have to rebuild your website, you just upgrade your account.

What’s the catch? With the free version of Wix, your URL (website address) will look like: 

Also, a banner at the top of your website will say, “Create a free website with Wix.com.” 

You can use a custom domain and remove the banner when you are ready to upgrade to their paid plan.

The free version of Wix is best for people who:

• Get most of their business from referrals, social media, or people in their local community. They want a website to build credibility, but they aren’t going to rely on it for leads or new customers.

• Are testing the water. They know they will quickly need a website to get leads but aren’t quite ready to invest in one yet.

• Have a very small business or need a personal website. They don’t need many features and aren’t looking for much web traffic.

You might wonder if it’s worth it to pay for Wix. That all depends on your goals. The paid version of Wix is best for people who:
